(i) Germination of a Seed- Generally, the plants grow from the seed. Put the seeds in the soil, give them fertilizer, water. Then the leaves sprout in them and go into the ground, and after a few days copulas grow towards the top, which make the plants. Wheat, Barley, Rice, Chana, Jawar, Bajra, mung, Moth, Urad, Arhar etc. plants grow from seed.
(ii) Growing Plant without Seed- There are many plants that grow without seed. Some plants are such whose twigs are cut off and sown in the soil and sometimes later new plants come from it. It is called grafting. But, for grafting, the twig should be cut down from the lump and should be sown in the rain. Rose, jasmine, sugarcane etc. are grown by this process. Atwig of a money plant along with its bud put in a bottle containing water or in a pot containing soil and a plant would grow from it.
A twig of a mint plant (pudina) along with its root when sown in the wet soil, after few days, many mint plants grow in that place. Similarly, if we bury potato, ginger etc. in a pot containing soil, plants will grow from it. On the other side, if we put a leaf of Bryophyllum (pattharchatta) in a pot containing soil, a new plant grows from that leaf. In this way, plants grow without seed.
(iii) From Root- Some plants are bom from the roots. E.g. Potatoes, sweet potatoes, ginger etc.
(iv) From Reaf- There are some plants which grow from the edge of the leaves. E.g. pattharchatta (bryophyllum).
