On the basis of ascent plants are of two types :

1. Climbers : Climbers are those plants that need a support to climb up. Some plants have thread-like structures which are called tendrils. Tendrils are the modified form 6 f petiole, leaf of stem. Pea, cucumber, bitter gourd, ridge gourd etc. are climbers.

2. Creepers : These plants have very weak stem. They cannot stand upright. They spread on the ground and grow horizontally and acquire large space. Unlike climbers, they do not have tendrils.

For example : Water melon, pumpkin, muskmelon etc.
