First of all we draw a rough sketch of the given measurements :

Steps of Construction

  1. First of all, we draw a line segment AB = 3.0 cm.
  2. At point B with the help of pencil and compass, construct ∠ABX = 120° with AB from BX cut BC = 3 cm.
  3. Draw an arc of radius 5 cm. from point B and an arc of radius 5 cm. from point C intersecting each other at D. Join AD and CD. Thus, we obtained a required quadrilateral ABCD.
