The walls of the fort of Chittorgarh were thick and high. At the time of any attack, to safeguard against the enemies, these huge gates were closed. Food and other materials were stored in the fort. Since elephants were also there in the king’s army, these types of gates were constructed to stop the movements of the elephants.
