Give one chemical test to distinguish between the following pairs of compounds:

(i) Ethylamine and diethylamine

(ii) Acetaldehyde and benzaldehyde

(i) Test : Action of CHCl3 and alcoholic KOH (Carbylamine)

Ethylamine : Bad smelling carbylamine is formed

Diethylamine : No action

(ii) Acetaldehyde has methyl keto group

hence it gives iodoform test while benzaldehyde not forms iodoform.
