Let three consecutive even numbers are 2x, 2x + 2 and 2x + 4.

According to question,

2x + 2x + 2 + 2x + 4 = 48
⇒ 6 + 6 = 48
⇒ 6x = 48 – 6 = 42
⇒ x = 42/6 = 7

First even number = 2x = 2 x 7 = 14

Second even number = 2x + 2 = 2 x 7 + 2
= 14 + 2 = 16

Third even number = 2x + 4 = 2 x 7 +4
= 14 + 4 = 18

So, three consecutive even numbers are 14, 16 and 18.
