Rearranging the terms in the given expression, we get

7x3 – 3x2y + x2y + xy2 – y3

= 7x3 + (– 3x2y) + x2y + xy2 – y3

= 7x3+(– 3 + 1) x2y + xy2 – y3 [Using distributive property]

= 7x3+(– 2) x2y + xy2 – y

= 7x3– 2x2y + xy2 – y3
