Let 12Ω and 6Ω resistors are in parallel

∴ Their effective resistance =

Total resistance of the circuit = 8 + 4 = 12Ω

(i) Current drawn =

(ii) P.D across 8Ω resistor = 1A.

P.D across the parallel combinaion of resistors = 12-8 =4V

∵ The resistances are in parallel they have the same P.D each i,e., 4V.

(iii) Current through the 6Ω resistor =
