What is the Hybridisation of HN3?

"sp or Linear Hybridization" for Central Nitrogen Atom whilst Outer Atoms play "sp2 or Trigonal Hybridization".

We have to consider the hybridisation for the most stable structure of the molecule

  1. Hence it is , N=N=N-H
  2. So, you can see the hybridisation of the central N atom is only "sp"
  3. And, remaing two N atoms is Sp2

***Don't forget the lone pairs on N
