Given: For the cylinder,

radius (r) = 5 cm,

height (h) = 40 cm

To find: Total surface area of the cylinder.

Total surface area of cylinder = 2πr (r + h)

= 2 × 3.14 × 5 (5 + 40)

= 2 × 3.14 × 5 × 45

= 1413 cm2

The total surface area of the cylinder is 1413 cm2 .
