Best answer

A swimming pool can be filled in 4 hours by 8 pumps.

If we want to fill the swimming pool in 1h,

We required 4×8 = 32 pumps

In 2 2/3 i.e. 8/3 h, the number of pumps required = 32 ÷ 8/3

= (32 x 3)/8

= 4 x 3

= 12 pumps
