Best answer

(b) 4

Let the side of the rectangle be ‘a’ cm

Maximum rectangle inscribed in a circle is a square.

The diagonal of the rectangle = 4 cm

√(a2 + a2) = 4

√2a2 = 4

2a2 = 16

a2 = 8 cm

The maximum area = 8

Half of the area of the square = 4 cm
