Let’s take A and B the joining point and P is the dividing point;

Let’s assume the co - ordinates of point P = x and y

By using Section formula;

x co - ordinate of point P will be -

Given that,

x1 = 7, y1 = - 6,

x2 = 3, y2 = 4

m = 1 and

n = 2

[Since, in IV quadrant, x - coordinate is positive and y - coordinate is negative]
