Iswaran was a good domestic assistant for Mahendra and followed him uncomplainingly wherever he was posted. Apart from cooking and doing household chores, he was a great entertainer weaving out endless stories and anecdotes on various subjects. He was good at managing resources as he could find vegetables out of nowhere and miraculously conjure up the most delicious dishes.
