The mean of ungrouped data and the mean calculated when the same data is grouped are always the same. Do you agree with this statement? Give reason for your answer.

The statement is not true. The reason is that when we calculated mean of a grouped data, it is assumed that frequency of each class is centred at the mid-point of the class. Because of this, two values of the mean, namely, those from ungrouped and grouped data are rarely the same.
