⇒ x2 + (y + 1)2 = x2 + (y – 1)2

⇒ (y + 1)2 = (y – 1)2

⇒ y2 + 2y + 1 = y2 – 2y + 1

⇒ 2y = -2y

⇒ 4y = 0
