Best answer

(b) 1.1

P (X = 0) = P (TT)

= P (T) P (T) = (0.4) (0.5) = 0.20

P (X = 1) = P (HT) + P(TH) = (0.6) (0.5) + (0.4) (0.5) = 0.5

P (X = 2) = P (HH)

= P (H). P (H) = (0.6) (0.5) = 0.30

E[X] = x P(x)

= (0).(0.20) + (1) (0.5) + (2) (0.30)

= 0.5 + 0.6 = 1.1
