K2Cr2O7

2 (+1) + 2X + 7(–2) = 0 

X = 6 

Transition metal chromium is present in +6 oxidation state. In KMnO4 transition metal molar mass is present in +7 oxidation state

In K2FeO4 transion metal Fe is present in +6 oxidation state
