  • Magnesium burns in air with a dazzing light to form MgO

  • Quick lime combines with silica to form slag(CaSiO3)

  • When chlorine is added to slaked lime we get bleaching powder.

  • Calcium nitrate on heating, decomposes to give calcium oxide.
