(1) The oxidation states of chromium in CrO42– and Cr2O72– are not the same 

Chromate (CrO42) ⇒ oxidation state = + 6 

dichromate (Cr2O7-2 ) ⇒ oxidation state = + 6 

oxidation state are same.
