* This reaction is an example of \(\beta\)-elimination. 

* Hydrogen is removed from b-carbon and halgoen from \(\alpha\)-carbon, hence, dehydrohalgoenation reaction. 

* Generally in E2 reaction Zaitsev alkene is formed as major product (more stable alkene).
