Best answer

Mass of metal = 0.6

Mass of metal oxide = 1 g

Mass of oxygen = 1 – 0.6 = 0.4 g

0.4 g of oxygen combines with 0.6 g of metal.

∴ 8 g of oxygen will combine with = 0.6/0.4 x 8

Equivalent mass of the metal = 12 g eq-1 .
