Reasons why I wanted to become an entrepreneur -

Starting one’s own business isn’t rocket science, to be honest. But everyone wants instant gratification and hence no one takes the leap to leave the safety of a monthly salary to start something of their own!

The greatest risk is not taking any risk - Life is not meant to be lived in a cocoon with the safety of a monthly salary. Take risks, break rules and create something unique which you can proudly call your own! Nassim Nicholas Taleb, the famous author of “The Black Swan” has said: “The three most harmful addictions are heroin, carbohydrates, and a monthly salary.”

“If you don't build your dream, someone else will hire you to help them build theirs.” - Late Dhirubhai Ambani

Nobody wants to become a leader, everyone wants to be a follower. With a monthly salary, you have to abide by your boss’ rules and you will never do anything on your own. In entrepreneurship, you have to do everything on your own which can be a bit scary and risky, but you know what they say “Fall 100 times and get up 101”.

Everyone is scared to fail - Very few realize that failure is the first step to everything and hence you have to keep failing. “Life is too short to spend your time avoiding failure.” – Michael Bloomberg

You are free to do anything - Being one’s own boss gives you the freedom to meet people, talk to them, learn from them. This opens up your mind’s spectrum to a wide variety of subjects or ideas.

You have to be prepared for the worst - The world of business is not full of roses and good people. “You must first be willing to fail — and you must have the courage to go for it anyway.” – Michael Bloomberg

You will doubt yourself - After you leave your job, there will be times and scenarios where you will doubt yourself which can be very painful. But the key is not to give up, hard work coupled with a good business idea will bear fruits sooner or later.
