  • The pollutants which can be easily decomposed by the natural biological processes are called biodegradable pollutants. For example plant wastes, animal wastes.
  • The pollutants which cannot be decomposed by the natural biological processes are called nonbiodegradable pollutants. For example, metal wastes such as Hg and Pb, D.D.T. plastics, nuclear vastcs.
