Assertion (A): The melting point of para halóbenzene is higher than that of ortho and meta isomers.

Reason (R): The higher melting point of p-isomer is due to its symmetry which leads to more close packing of its molecules in the crystal and subsequently pisomer have strong intermolecular attractive forces.

(a) both (A) and (R) are correct and (R) is the correct explanation of(A).

(b) Both (A) and (R) are correct but (R) is not the correct explanation of(A).

(c) (A) is correct but (R) is wrong.
