Local or vernacular names are not sufficient as there are different languages prevalent in different parts of the world and if we name any plant or animal according to the local language, no one from another part of the country, forget the world, would be able to understand it. So to solve this problem scientists came up with scientific naming in which all the plants and animals are named in the Latin language.
