The three population density zones of India are :

1. High-density zone: The Northern plains above 500 people per sq.km. Northern plains and Kerala in the. South. 

2. Moderate or Medium density zone: Mountain region 250-500 people per sq.km. 

Ex. Assam and Peninsular states.

3. Low-density zone: Plateau region below 250 people per sq.km. 

Ex. Jammu and Kashmir, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh.
