Biodegradable Resources Non- biodegradable Resources
Resources that can be degraded by natural processes are called Bio-Degradable Resources. Resources that cannot be degraded by biological and natural processes are called Non- Biodegradable Resources.
These include resources like Paper, Dead Boies, Plant Waste like leaves, twigs, etc. These include resources like Plastic, rubber, DDT, Chemicals, radioactive wastes, etc.
They do not get accumulated in the environment and are easily degraded by microbes. They get accumulated in the environment and cause problems like Eutrophication and disruption of the food chain.
Most of these resources are natural. All of these are man-made resources.
Their recycling is very cheap, fast, and occurs naturally in the environment. Their recycling is very expensive, time-consuming, and may lead to the formation of toxic substances.
