Ideal solution : An ideal solution is a solution in which each component obeys the Raoult’s law over the entire range of concentration.
For an ideal solution,
- ∆Hmixing = 0
- ∆Vmixing = 0
Example: Benzenc and toluene n – Hexane and n – Heptane
Non-ideal solution: Non-ideal solution The solutions which do not obey Raoult’slaw over the entire range of concentrationsare called non-ideal solution.
For a non-ideal solution,
- ∆Hmixing ≠ 0
- ∆Vmixing ≠ 0
Example: Ethyl alcohol and Cyclo hexane, Benzene and acetone .
