bond order = (nb – na)

bond order of O22- = \(\frac{1}{2}\) (8 – 6) = 1 

bond order of C2+ = \(\frac{1}{2}\) (5 – 2) = 1.5 

bond order of O2 = \(\frac{1}{2}\) (8 – 4) = 2 

bond order of C22- = \(\frac{1}{2}\) (8 – 2) = 3
