RENAL ARTERY RENAL VEIN
1. Renal artery is thick, muscular and strong possessing a narrow lumen with no valves.
2. It carries oxygenated blood from the heart to the kidneys.
3. Blood flows with high pressure.
1. Renal vein is thinner and possess a wide lumen with valves to prevent backflow of blood.
2. It carries de-oxygenated blood from the kidneys back to the heart.
3. Blood flows with low pressure.
