Determine the angle of incidence of a ray of light, if the reflected ray is at an angle of 90° to the incident ray?

According to the law of reflection,

The angle of incidence = Angle of reflection

Let’s draw the figure –

According to question reflected ray is making an angle of 90º with the incident ray.

So angle of incidence + angle of reflected = 90º

Since both angle of incidence is equal to angle of reflected

Angle of incidence + angle of incidence = 90º

Angle of incidence = 45º
