Which lens would you prefer to use while reading small letters from a dictionary?

I would prefer convex lens because it gives the magnified image of an object when an object is placed between the radius of curvature and focal length. Also the magnification is more for the convex lenses having shorter focal length. 

Hence for reading, a convex lens of focal length 5 cm should be used.
