In this, heavy nucleus is split up into two fragments. In this, two or more lighter nuclei combine to form a heavier nucleus.
It takes place at any higher temperature. It takes place at very high temperature.
Energy released per fission is 200 MeV. Energy released per fusion is 3.84 x 10-12 J.
