Best answer

The intermolecular forces of attraction that hold the water molecules together are stronger than the forces that hold the alcohol particles together. Hence, more energy is required to break these intermolecular forces of attraction of water particles than that of alcohol. This gives water a higher boiling point as more heat energy will be used than that for alcohol.

Water changes into solid state at a temperature of 273.15 K and turns into vapour at 373.15 K
