Best answer

Refractive index μ = \(\frac{Speed\, of \, light\, in\, air(c)}{Speed\, of\,light\, in\, the\,medium(v)}\)

Given :

μ = 2.41

c = 2 x 108 ms-1

μ = \(\frac{c}{v}\)

v = \(\frac{3 \times10^8}{2.41}\)

Speed of light in diamond v = 1.24 x 108 ms-1
