Let the total number of workers in the workshop be x. 

Then, number of other workers (besides technicians) = (x – 7) 

Given, (x – 7) × 7800 + 7 × 10000 = 8500x

⇒ 7800x – 54600 + 70000 = 8500x 

⇒ 700x = 15400 ⇒ x = \(\frac{15400}{700}\) ⇒ x = 22.
