Definition: Air Traffic Control Services provided for the safe and efficient conduct of flight are termed as Air Traffic Services.
Objectives of Air Traffic Services are:-
(a) To prevent collision between aircraft.
(b) To prevent collision between aircraft on the maneuvering area and obstructions in that area.
(c) To expedite and maintain an orderly flow of traffic.
(d) To provide advice and information useful for the safe and efficient conduct of flights.
(e) To notify appropriate organizations regarding aircraft in need of search and rescue aid and assist such an organization as required.
