If \(\frac{2}{X} \)+\(\frac{3}{y} \) = 2 and \(\frac{6}{X} \)\(\frac{18}{y} \)= 9, then the values of x and y respectively are :

(a) 3 and 2

(b) 2 and 3 

(c) 4 and 3 

(d) 3 and 4

(b) 2 and 3

Let \(\frac{1}{X}\) = a, \(\frac{1}{y}\) = b, Then, the given equations reduce to:

2a + 3b = 2 ....…(i)

6a + 18b = 9 ….(ii)

Now solve eqn (i) and (ii) to find the values of a and b, and then x and y.
