Subject Use of single-use plastics
Sir
I would like to draw your kind attention to the use of plastics that has pervaded in my locality. It is a new locality where one can find big and beautiful buildings. When it was brought into being a few years ago, the municipal authorities had given a word to look into the needs of the residents.
Unfortunately, their promises proved to be mere words. The roads of our locality are littered with polythene bags. The beauty of the entire landscape is lost: During rainy days:
- drainage gets clogged
- Though state government has banned single-use plastic in Jan 2019, its use is quite extensive all over the city.
There are no dustbins, people throw the waste material on the roadside.I, therefore, request you to please look into the matter seriously and take steps to curb the menace of plastic overuse. We will be thankful if you address this problem and help us.
