Best answer

(b) 5, -2

a - 3 = \(\frac{10}{a}\) ⇒ a2 - 3a = 10

⇒ a2 - 3a - 10 = 0 ⇒ a2 - 5a + 2a - 10 = 0

⇒ a (a - 5) + 2(a - 5 ) = 0

⇒ (a - 5)(a + 2) = 0

⇒ a - 5 = 0 or a + 2 = 0

⇒ a = 5, -2.
