(a) (a + 4)(a - 4)(a + 2)(a - 2)

a4 - 20a2 + 64

= a4 - 16a2 - 4a2 + 64

= a2(a2 - 16) - 4(a2 - 16)

= (a2 - 16)(a2 - 4)

= (a + 4)(a - 4)(a + 2)(a - 2)
