Best answer

(a) 1372

Given, perimeter of the circular base of the cup = 176 cm. If r is the radius of the hemispherical bowl, then 2πr = 176

⇒ r = \(\frac{176\times7}{22\times2}=28\) cm.

Total number of persons who can be served

\(\frac{\frac12\times\text{Volume of hemispherical bowl}}{\text{Volume of one hemispherical glass }}\)

\(\frac{\frac12\times\frac23\timesπ\times(28)^3}{\frac23\timesπ\times(2)^3}\) = \(\frac{2744}{2}\) = 1372.
