Best answer

Intermolecular forces of attraction are not found in an ideal gas. So, no energy is required to overcome these forces. Moreover, when an ideal gas expands into vacuum, work done is zero because external pressure (Pext) is zero Thus, there is no change in the internal energy of the system. Hence, heat is neither absorbed nor evolved during such expansion.
