Cations are smaller than neutral atom whereas anions are larger in size than neutral atom. Explain.

Cations are smaller than neutral atom due to presence of more number of protons than number of electrons in cations. So, coulombic force increases and size decreases. Whereas anions are larger than neutral atom due to more number of electrons than number of protons in anions, coulombic force decreases and size increases.
