# Integral points, divisibility between values of polynomials and entire curves on surfaces

@article{Corvaja2009IntegralPD, title={Integral points, divisibility between values of polynomials and entire curves on surfaces}, author={Pietro Corvaja and Umberto Zannier}, journal={arXiv: Number Theory}, year={2009} }

We prove some new degeneracy results for integral points and entire curves on surfaces; in particular, we provide the first example, to our knowledge, of a simply connected smooth variety whose sets of integral points are never Zariski-dense (and no entire curve has Zariski-dense image). Some of our results are connected with divisibility problems, i.e. the problem of describing the integral points in the plane where the values of some given polynomials in two variables divide the values of… Expand

In this paper we prove that the set of $S$-integral points of the smooth cubic surfaces in $\mathbb{A}^3$ over a number field $k$ is not thin, for suitable $k$ and $S$. As a corollary, we obtain… Expand

Hyperbolicity of varieties of log general type: arithmetic and geometry

In this paper we link the so-called Hilbert property (HP) for an algebraic variety (over a number field) with its fundamental group, in a perspective which appears new. (The notion of HP comes from… Expand

Applications of Diophantine Approximation to Integral Points and Transcendence

Diophantine approximation may be roughly described as the branch of number theory concerned with approximations by rational numbers; or rather, this constituted the original motivation. That such… Expand
