The points are A(0,2) and B(5,10).

If the intersection point lies on x-axis, the abscissa of point must be 0

By using Section formula,

 \(P(x,y)=(\frac {mx_2+nx_1}{m+n} , \frac {my_2+ny_1}{m+n})\)

⇒ \(P(0,y)=(\frac {5m+0n}{m+n} , \frac {10m+2n}{m+n})\)

⇒ \(0=(\frac {5m}{m+n}) \)

 ⇒ \(y=(\frac {2(5m+n)}{m+n})\)

 ⇒ \(y=(\frac {2n}{m+n})\)
