Correct option is (b) 183

Clearly, an = 3bn–1

⇒ an+1 = 3bn

bn = an–1 + 2bn–1

⇒ an+1 = an–1 + \(\frac 23\)an

⇒ an+1 = 3an–1 + 2an

Clearly a2 = 0, a3 = 3

⇒ a4 = 3a2 + 2a3 = 6

a5 = 3a3 + 2a4 = 9 + 12 = 21.

a6 = 3a4 + 2a5 = 18 + 42 = 60.

a7 = 3a5 + 2a6 = 63+ 120  = 183.
