A conical tent is 10m high and the radius of its base is 24m. Find the slant height of the tent. If the cost of 1m2 canvas is Rs.70, find the cost of the canvas required to make the tent.

We have,

Radius of base of tent = r = 24m 

Vertical height = h = 10m 

∴slant height = l =\(\sqrt{r^2+h^2}\) 

= \(\sqrt{576+100}\) 

= 26m

∴ Cost of canvas required = 

Rs.\(\{(\frac{22}{7}\times24\times26)\times70\}\)

= Rs. 137280
