Best answer

Let the numbers be a and b.

Given, difference between two numbers is 26 and one number is three times the other.

⇒ a – b = 26 [1] and a = 3b [2]

From [1] and [2], we get

⇒ 3b - b = 26

⇒ 2b = 26

⇒ b = 13

Thus, a = 3b = 3(13) = 39
